Alongside the Support Programme, in 2014 Kultura Nova Foundation started with the implementation of the Research and Development Programmes that lead to the forming of the Research and Development Department in 2017 which operates within the Foundation's Administrative Service. By initiating Research and Development Programmes, Kultura Nova Foundation created added value to its primary activity that has been realized through grantmaking to the civil society organizations in the contemporary arts and culture. Activities carried out within the Research and Development Programmes represent an important step forward in the Foundation’s approach and method of operating by creating the basis for a more comprehensive approach to reaching of Foundation’s mission and vision, as well as achieving its strategic goals.

Activities carried out within the Research and Development Department are complementary to those of the Support Programme Department and are directed toward projects that aim to contribute to the growth and stability of the civil society organizations in the field of contemporary arts and culture as well as development of the knowledge about contemporary arts and culture and recognition of the importance of the arts and culture in the development of the society.
