Maša Kolar
Maša Kolar is a dance artist born in Zagreb, where she graduated from the Ana Maletić School of Contemporary Dance. She attended the Vlaamse Dansacademie in Bruges, Belgium, and completed a BA in contemporary dance, teaching study group at the University in Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art. She began her professional career as a dancer in 1986 at the Zagreb City Theater Komedija, continuing in 1992 at the Semperopera Ballet in Dresden, where in 1995 she became a soloist. In 1997, she was awarded the prestigious "Mary Wigman" Award for special dance achievements in the choreographies of John Neumeier, Stephan Thoss and Mats Ek. Since 1998, she has been engaged in Thoss TanzKompanie in Kiel, Germany, and in 2007 she became a member of Aterballetto in Italy, where she worked with choreographers Mauro Bigonzetti, Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, André Mesquita and Walter Matteini. Since 2006, she has been employed at the ZKM College in Zagreb as a dance pedagogue and choreographer, continuing her international career as a freelance dance artist, choreographer and pedagogue. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her artistic work. Since 2017, she has been the director of the Croatian National Theater Rijeka ballet.
