Romana Matanovac Vučković

Romana Matanovac Vučković is a full professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law, at the Academy of Music and at the Academy of Dramatic Art. She is the head of the postgraduate interdisciplinary specialist study programme "Intellectual Property" at the University of Zagreb. She has produced a very rich scientific bibliography and held a large number of presentations at international and national scientific and professional conferences. She was on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and conferences and edited several monographs herself. She was the deputy director of the State Institute for Intellectual Property, the president of the Council of Experts on Compensations for Copyright and Related Rights, and the president of the Appeal Boards in the field of industrial property. As an international expert, she participates in numerous international projects in the field of intellectual property and technology transfer financed by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the European Union and the World Bank. She is the recipient of a special award of the Rector of the University in Zagreb for the promotion of intellectual property, an award from the State Institute for Intellectual Property for the best scientific work published in an international journal, and in 2021 the magazine "Zaposlena" declared her Woman of the Year. Since 2018, she has been a special adviser to the Minister of Culture and Media. She also graduated from the University of Zagreb Academy of Music, classical guitar study group in István Römer’s class, and attended postgraduate guitar studies at the "Mozarteum" University in Salzburg, in the class of Eliot Fisk. As a guitarist, she held around 300 concerts until 2000, mostly together with violinist Laura Vadjon. She is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, among others the Darko Lukić and Radio Podij Best Young Musicians Award. She stopped playing the guitar 25 years ago, but channeled her love of music into other activities in the field of culture and art, especially as the president of the Croatian Music Institute.
