Development of New Organizations
The Foundation aims to support and promote new organizations in the Republic of Croatia that need more resources and funding access by providing financial and professional support in this programme area. This support is intended for organizations established within the past three years, as specified in the Public Call.
To be eligible for support within this Programme Area, organizations must implement cultural and artistic programmes in contemporary arts and culture that are accessible to the public. The implementation of cultural and artistic activities can occur during the year corresponding to the support period.
The cultural and artistic programme represents the basis for obtaining support for organizational development, and it can be realized in any artistic discipline or cultural activity in the field of contemporary arts and culture, regardless of which of the following five cultural functions it refers to: creation, production, distribution, preservation, education**. Programmes can be realized in the country and abroad, in a physical (open / closed) or virtual space. The program can be implemented independently, in partnership with other actors from any area and sector (civil, public, private) in the country and/or abroad or through cooperation and exchange with members in formal and informal networks.
The support primarily targets operational costs, which form the basis for any organizational activity, including programme activities. These include costs such as fees for the work of managers, producers, program/project managers, financial administrators, office managers and other program participants, financial-administrative costs, office rental costs, overhead costs, communication costs, etc.
Through this Programme area, "Kultura Nova" Foundation provides not only financial, but also professional support to civil society organizations in contemporary arts and culture, which includes:
- Educational program in cultural management: This program is free and mandatory for all representatives of organizations supported within this programme area. It encompasses: Organizational development and management; Project cycle management (including writing project proposals, project management, monitoring, evaluation, programme reporting, project and annual budget preparation, financial management); Participation in culture.
- Administrative and legal assistance.
Specific Objectives:
- To contribute to strengthening of the organizational capacities of recently established civil society organizations active in the contemporary culture and art.
- To contribute to strengthening of the professional competencies and to the internal empowerment of newly established civil society organizations in contemporary culture and art for development and implementation of cultural and artistic programmes.
- To contribute to better working conditions within civil society organizations in the field of contemporary culture and art.
** The definition of six cultural functions (creation, production, distribution, preservation, education, management) is based on the Eurostat Report of the ESSnet-Culture (European Statistical System Network on Culture) project, established by the European Commission and Eurostat in their 2012 "Essnet-Culture: European Statistical System Network on Culture - Final Report." which is available here.
