Projects

The Foundation, within the activities implemented in the R&D Department, establishes partnerships with international organizations and through its active engagement participates in the development and implementation of various international projects. Based on listening and looking at processes that happen in praxis, Kultura Nova takes part in projects that deal with topics relevant for the cultural sector and the context in which it operates and thus strengthens its capacities, diversifies funding sources and contributes to the generating of new knowledge and solutions that would enable a better future not only for the Croatian civil sector, but the cultural sector as a whole.

  • IN SITU

In collaboration with 12 partners, led by the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, the Kultura Nova Foundation in 2021 developed the "IN SITU: Place-based innovation of cultural and creative industries in non-urban areas" project, focused on research of practices and development perspectives of the actors in the creative and creative industries (CCI) in rural and non-urban environments. The four-year IN SITU project is supported through the Horizon Europe programme with a budget of 4 million euros.

  • i-Portunus Houses

Kultura Nova Foundation, together with its partners ECF and MitOst Foundation, has developed the "i-Portunus Houses – Kick-start a local mobility host network for artists & cultural professionals in all Creative Europe countries" in 2019 within the mobility call of the European Commission. The project deals with developing of a grant scheme for the mobility of artists and cultural professionals in the Creative Europe countries, and besides grants giving, the project encompasses a research on mobility and the design of policy recommendations.

  • ADESTE+

In 2017, in partnership with 14 other organizations, Kultura Nova Foundation has developed the "Audience DEvelopment Strategies for Cultural Organizations in Europe" (ADESTE +) project, focused on research and development of innovative approaches to the audience development. The project is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

  • Approaches to Participatory Governance of Cultural Institutions

"Approaches to Participatory Governance of Cultural Institutions" is a two-year project that was implemented from 2016 to 2018 with the support of the UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). The project was focused on existing and emerging models of innovative cultural institutions that are being developed around creative spaces based on the principles of participatory government.
