Ivan Batoš
Ivan Batoš graduated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in 2002 (Đuro Tikvica) and earned his master's degree in 2009 (Lovro Pogorelić). He advanced his professional development at seminars held by world-famous pianists and pedagogues: Anatoly Katz, Victor Merzhanov (Dubrovnik, 1998), David Lively (Baden bei Wien, 2001), Arbo Valdma (Cologne, 2002) and at the Warsaw Piano Workshop in 2003. He is the founder of the chamber Trio GIG, with whom he has been performing regularly throughout Croatia since 2006. He performed at leading festivals in Croatia (MBZ, Split Summer Festival, Osor Music Evenings, VG Brass Festival, HDS Music Tribune in Opatija), solo and in ensembles with local and foreign instrumentalists. At the Zagreb &TD Theatre, he participated as a pianist and ensemble leader in performances of the chamber ballet The Plumber by G. Tudor and N. Manojlović. In 2017, he was a guest lecturer in Arno Bornkamp's class at the Conservatory in Amsterdam as an ERASMUS+ program scholarship recipient. He is the winner of numerous awards for his artistic activity. She is a long time artist associate of the Academy of Music in Zagreb, and since January 2022 she is an assistant professor at the Department of Music and Media of University North in Varaždin. In 2019, he marked the 90th anniversary of Milan Kundera’s birth in several Croatian cities with a series of solo concerts entitled Variations of Laughter and Forgetting, accompanied by video projections by author Domagoj Zovak, and in November of the same year, in a duo with Gordan Tudor, he participated in the contemporary music festival Re:formers Fest in Moscow.
